This Will Only Hurt A Little, Hudson on Pratt, Hartford, CT. 2020.

This Will Only Hurt A Little was an immersive installation experience in Downtown Hartford, Connecticut. Transforming a pop-up gallery space into a visual adaptation of her brain, Morris cut pages from her own journals to highlight her struggle with anxiety. When first entering the space, one is assaulted with overwhelming thoughts and displayed on pages stuck within netting and yarn meant to symbolize synapses. As you walk through, you find many quirky quips peppered alongside dark thoughts. Two 8-foot cyanotype fabric panels hang in the middle of the room with unsent letters affixed, highlighted by the warm buzz of projectors strategically placed around the room.
